Norman Nawrocki Fonds

Biographical History

Norman Nawrocki (born in Vancouver, British Columbia, 1969–), is a Montreal-based comedian, sex educator, cabaret artist, musician, author, actor, producer and composer. Before settling in Montreal Nawrocki was a member of the Open Road collective and very active in the B.C. anarchist scene. After moving to Montreal, Nawrocki co-founded the “rock ‘n roll cabaret” band Rhythm Activism with Sylvain Côté. He also founded Les Pages Noires, a “non-profit publishing, recording, production & distribution project dedicated to helping create & disseminate dissident, freedom-loving, anarchist-inspired culture that promotes social justice.”

Scope and Content

The fonds reflects Norman Nawrocki’s interest and participation in the anarchist movement and numerous activist organizations, as well as his role at Open Road and his career as a musician and sex educator. Fonds includes newspaper clippings, journals, newsletters, monographs, photocopied and printed articles, pamphlets, leaflets, correspondence, notes, audiocassette tapes, posters, and ephemera.

The fonds has been arranged into four series: Collected publications and documents, Correspondence, Audiocassette tapes, and Posters.
