TAO Communications Fonds

Administrative History

TAO Communications was founded in the late 1990s by Jessie Hirsh and supported activist-focused internet platforms through openflows.org.  Reformed as an I.W.W. affiliated workers’ coop – the Organization for Autonomous Communications – the Toronto-based organization served as a hub for a federation of internet-engaged autonomous collectives and individuals. The organization played a critical role providing services (email listserves, webpages, etc.) for anarchist organizations, events, and projects into the 2000s.
